Which ResMed tube do you need?
Two questions decide it, and nothing else. First, is your machine from the Air10 generation or the Air11 generation? Second, has your doctor put you on supplemental oxygen alongside the therapy? Find your row below.

The generations do not mix. An Air11 tube will not seat properly on an AirSense 10, and an Air10 tube will not work on an AirSense 11 — the cuff and the electrical contacts are different. Why a heated tube matters in this climate
Rainout is the word for water condensing inside the tube, and it is the single most frequent complaint we hear from CPAP users around Dhaka. The physics is simple: warm humidified air leaves the machine, travels through a hose lying across a cool air-conditioned room, and drops below the temperature at which it can hold that moisture. The water has to go somewhere, so it pools in the tube and eventually reaches the mask.
Most people respond by turning the humidifier down. That stops the rainout and gives them a dry throat and a blocked nose instead — trading one problem for another. A heated tube removes the trade-off. A heating element runs the full length and a sensor at the mask end reports the real temperature back to the machine, which corrects continuously through the night. Set Climate Control to Auto, which targets roughly 27°C, and most patients never adjust it again. Manual control is there if you want the air warmer or cooler, anywhere between 16°C and 30°C.
One thing worth knowing: heated tubing only works when the HumidAir humidifier is switched on with water in the chamber. Running the tube with an empty or disabled humidifier gives you no benefit at all.
When to replace your tube
ResMed's guidance is every six to twelve months with nightly use. In practice, replace it sooner if any of these show up.
Rainout returning after months without it usually means the heater wire has failed along one section, leaving a cold spot where moisture condenses. Cracks or splits near either cuff leak pressure silently, and since a small leak triggers no alarm, therapy quality falls without you realising. A tube gone stiff, cloudy or discoloured has simply aged. And if the climate settings stop appearing on your machine's screen when the tube is connected, the sensor contacts in the cuff have failed and the tube needs replacing.
Wash the tube weekly in warm water with a mild dishwashing liquid — never above 55°C, never in a dishwasher or washing machine. Rinse well and hang it to dry away from direct sunlight. A balcony in full Dhaka sun will age a tube faster than anything else.
